Masters Of The Universe Movie Loses Star Noah Centineo – Report-October 2024
Oct 31, 2024 5:29 PM

The long-in-development Masters of the Universe movie has lost its star. According to Collider, Noah Centineo is no longer set to start as He-Man, the lead character from the '80s toy and cartoon franchise.

According to Collider, the report was confirmed by a representative for Centineo, who stated the actor "is no longer attached to that project." No reason for Centineo's departure from Masters of the Universe has been announced.

Centineo was announced in the role of He-Man in 2019. He was recently cast as Atom Smasher in the upcoming DC movie Black Adam, and also appeared in 2019's Charlie's Angels and To All the Boys I've Loved Before.

This is the latest set-back for the Masters of the Universe film, which has been in development for many years. The latest directors to sign on to the project are Aaron and Adam Nee, with Terminator: Salvation director McG previously attached. In October 2019, it was reported that Sony was considering making the movie with Netflix, but there has been no further news about this.

There are, however, two separate animated He-Man shows heading to Netflix. The 2D animated Masters of the Universe: Revelations has Kevin Smith as its showrunner, and the cast includes Mark Hamill, Lena Headey, and Sarah Michell. There's also the CG animated He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, which will be aimed at a younger audience than Smith's show.
