Mass Effect Andromeda Will Run at 30 FPS on Both PS4 & PS4 Pro at Custom Resolution-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 9:49 PM

Yesterday was a very good day for fans of the Mass Effect series, as Mass Effect Andromeda, the new entry of the series currently in development by BioWare, has made a surprising appearance during the PlayStation Meeting with a proper gameplay video showcasing the game running on the soon to be released PlayStation 4 Pro. More on the game will be coming this November, but something new did manage to surface shortly after the PlayStation Meeting.

Speaking with GameSpot, Mass Effect Andromeda producer Fabrice Condominas revealed that Mass Effect Andromeda will run at 30 FPS on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, which sounds somewhat disappointing, considering the additional power offered by the new console will allow some games to run at smoother frame rates. At the same time, Mass Effect Andromeda is still in development, so things may be different in the final release.

On a related note, Frostbite Labs' Johan Andresson revealed on Twitter that Mass Effect Andromeda will have a custom resolution on PS4 Pro that's neither upscaled nor native.  Not much else has been said, but we should hear more about the matter soon enough.

  neither, custom

Following yesterday's showing, fans of the Mass Effect series won't have to wait much longer to see more of Mass Effect Andromeda in action. On the series' official Twitter profile, it's been confirmed that a new Mass Effect Andromeda trailer will be shown during N7-Day, which will be held on November 7th, officially opening the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe.

Yep, on N7-Day we'll show a new trailer and officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be a new beginning for the series, featuring a brand new protagonist who has been tasked with discovering a new planet for humans to colonize. The game has been in the works for quite some time, so it will be interesting to see how BioWare managed to improve the series' mechanics since Mass Effect 3.

Mass Effect Andromeda launches in early 2017 in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 consoles and Xbox One. We will let you know more about the BioWare's highly anticipated role playing game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
