Marve's Spider-Man On PS4 Adds Far From Home Suits For Free, Out Now-October 2024
Oct 18, 2024 7:35 PM

Marvel's Spider-Man is nearly a year old, but Insomniac Games has issued yet another free update with a pair of costumes for the web-slinger. This time the fresh wardrobe change in the acclaimed PS4 game is to celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is now in theaters.

The update adds the Upgraded Suit and Stealth Suit from Far From Home. The Upgraded Suit is Spidey's signature look in the new flick, with his usual red-and-blue color scheme. The Stealth Suit is an all-black iteration with headgear and buckles, as seen briefly in some of the trailers.

Now Playing: Who Are The Elementals in Spider-Man: Far From Home?

The PS4 game offered a wide variety of suits paying homage to lots of Spider-Man comics from the start, but Insomniac has added quite a few more post-launch as well. Its series of DLC episodes added three suits apiece, but the studio also added free one based on the Sam Raimi films and a pair of suits based on Fantastic Four comics. This isn't the first time the game has paid homage to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it launched with the Iron Spider from Avengers: Infinity War and the Stark Suit from Homecoming. If you haven't picked up the PS4 game yet, you can get a good deal on it with some July 4 sales.

As for Far From Home, it bookends the last ten years of Marvel movies with a lighter epilogue after the world-changing events of Avengers: Endgame.

"[Far From Home is] full of heart and good intentions, clever, quick-witted, and confident enough to pull off some really insane reveals," Meg Downey wrote in GameSpot's review. "The parts that work, work very, very well. But the parts that don't tend to feel like stubbed toes or irritating splinters--not life-threatening by any means, but distracting at best and annoying at worst; like someone pulled the curtain back on the MCU's systemic shortcomings a little too far. Still, if you can ignore that--and it'll be easier for some than it is for others, depending on your relationship to the MCU at large--you're in for a pretty good ride."
