Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Guide: How to Unlock Suit Styles
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Guide: How to Unlock Suit Styles-October 2024
Oct 30, 2024 1:29 AM

One of the best ways to customize Miles Morales’ style in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is by giving his (and Peter’s) suit a fresh colorway and style. While not every unlockable suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature alternative styles, the ones that do offer some striking color schemes well above and beyond the iconic red and blue.

To unlock a new style in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players must first unlock the base suit by virtue of collectible currencies (usually City Tokens) and complete the primary objective associated with those threads. Most of the time, these rewards come by simply leveling up. However, others will require the completion of specific main/side missions or collectible thresholds for acquiring 100% of a given collectible type

If it’s a tracked collectible that appears on your map guide, more often than not, there’s a suit associated with it. The suit rewards will vary between Peter and Miles and simply hovering over the hidden suit design in the roster will provide players with information on what activity or collectible is needed to unlock it, provided they’ve already seen the first of that collectible type. Hunter nests, which reward Spider-Man with a very Kraven/jungle-themed suit, aren’t unlocked until well after Kraven makes his first appearance in the story.

Not all suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have styles either, mind you. The ones that do will have a series of four diamonds at the bottom side of the suit card. Suits, once unlocked, will fill in one of the diamonds, while unlocking the alternative styles unlocks the three remaining styles all at once. Certain suits, such as Peter’s Into the Spider-verse Noir Suit, will also unlock additional visuals and SFX to match the suit’s original appearance; in this instance, the low frame rate stop motion movement animations from the original animated film.

While you won’t need to collect every style for every suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you’ll easily have more than enough tokens to unlock every style long before you come close to rolling credits in this thirty-hour adventure. The game won’t hesitate to remind you of a new suit yet to be unlocked with a numbered notification badge appearing on that given tab in the pause menu. That being said, have you really finished Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 if you haven’t unlocked every style of Miles Morales’ Bodega Cat suit that makes a return from his previous title?
