Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Director Says to ‘Stay Tuned’ on Daredevil
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Director Says to ‘Stay Tuned’ on Daredevil-November 2024
Nov 25, 2024 1:32 AM

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is full of easter eggs, though one in particular stood out for fans. A plaque mentioning the Nelson and Murdock law firm was found in the first installment somewhere in Hell's Kitchen; in this sequel, the plaque is still there, but the Nelson and Murdock text is gone, hinting at a possible relocation of their office.

When asked about that in the latest episode of IGN's Beyond podcast, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Senior Creative Director Bryan Intihar said:

That's a good question. Stay tuned. Good find, though!

This isn't the only reference in the game to Nelson and Murdock. At the end of the Sandman missions, Miles Morales mentions that Peter's lawyer friends might help Sandman's daughter with visitation rights to meet with her father in prison. While not mentioned by name, it seems to be a pretty clear nod to the dynamic duo of attorneys.

All of this was more than enough to get fans speculating about Daredevil making an appearance. Of course, what kind of appearance is anyone's guess at this point. It may be something as small as a cameo of Matt Murdock as a lawyer (just like in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home movie), or we may get to see the Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself as a partner of Spider-Man in a DLC or spin-off game.

Insomniac certainly left the door wide open to the possibility of crafting a wider Marvel universe. Just two days ago, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Senior Creative Director Bryan Intihar confirmed to Kinda Funny that the upcoming Wolverine game is set in the same universe (Earth-1048), opening up to cross-overs. Moreover, on launch day, Senior Narrative Director Jon Paquette said the studio would listen to fans' feedback for a potential Venom spin-off.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 had a great critical and commercial reception. It earned 8.5/10 in Wccftech's review and became the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game ever with over 2.5 million units sold in the first 24 hours (though the figure includes console bundles).
