John Lithgow has joined the cast of Killers of the Flower Moon. The veteran actor is the latest name to be attached to Martin Scorsese's upcoming period thriller.
According to Deadline, Lithgow is set to play a prosecutor named Leaward in the movie. Killers of the Flower Moon takes place in 1920s Oklahoma and tells the story of the systematic murder of members of the oil-rich Osage Nation.
John Lithgow in DexterKillers of the Flower Moon is currently in production, and the cast continues to grow. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Jesse Plemons, with Brendan Fraser recently joining as lawyer WS Hamilton. The film will premiere on Apple TV+, but doesn't have a confirmed released date yet.
Lithgow's recent credits include Bombshell, Pet Semetary, and The Crown, in which he played Winston Churchill. His long filmography also includes the lead role in 3rd Rock from the Sun and movies such as Harry and the Hendersons, Cliffhanger, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Lithgow will also soon be seen in the upcoming Dexter revival show, Dexter: New Blood. He'll reprise his role as Arthur Mitchell, aka Trinity Killer, who was the main villain in Dexter Season 4.
