2022's Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg earned more than $400 million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing video game movies of all time. Despite being hailed by Sony Pictures as the company's next franchise, no sequel has been announced. However, Wahlberg has revealed that a script has been written.

　　Speaking to The Direct, Wahlberg said he has heard "lots of different ideas" about a sequel, adding, "I know somebody's written a script, and they're still working on it."

　　The script for the first Uncharted movie was written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the team that wrote the original Iron Man, along with Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). It is unknown if any of them are involved with a potential sequel.

　　In the interview, Wahlberg wanted to talk a lot about his character Sully's mustache. He said the script for Uncharted 2 that he's seen has Sully with a mustache for the entire time. For the original Uncharted movie, Wahlberg's Sully only got the character's iconic mustache at the very end.

　　"I spent quite a bit of time growing it because, at one point, we tried to do it with a fake mustache, and, I don't know. I just don't have the confidence to pull it off," he said.

　　Wahlberg went on to say he would be "open" to coming back to play Sully again in an Uncharted sequel if the movie can be "better than the first."

　　Uncharted is the No. 5 highest-grossing video game movie of all time, only surpassed by Rampage, Warcraft, Detective Pikachu, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The film was directed by Ruben Fleischer, who also made Zombieland and Venom.

　　While fans might have to wait some time for the next Uncharted movie, another Naughty Dog game that has enjoyed new success through an adaptation, The Last of Us, is coming back for a second season on HBO in 2025.
