One of the biggest criticisms aimed at the Nintendo 3DS is its distinct lack of games. While it's not uncommon for a new console to see a postlaunch drought, it didn't really help that for a long time, the most anticipated Nintendo 3DS title was a rehash of a 13-year-old game. Now, the next game in the sights of Nintendo 3DS owners is Mario Kart 7.

　　While the rest of the world has had a release date for Mario Kart 7 for a while now, Nintendo's left Aussie fans high and dry--until now. Slated to arrive on December 3, Mario Kart 7's release date puts it in line with the rest of the globe. Interestingly, though, this puts it outside of the "normal" release date day of Thursday. In Japan, it's not uncommon for games to be released on a weekend, but for the Australian market this is something new.

　　Mario Kart 7 sticks fairly close to the formula that's kept the franchise going for over 15 years. The game runs at a full 60 frames per second, even when 3D is activated, and will allow players to swap ghost data via Wi-Fi.
