Cyberlore Studios announces its latest endeavor: Majesty, a strategy game the company is calling "a kingdom simulator."
Cyberlore Studios, which has such projects as Deadlock 2, Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty expansion set, the WarCraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal expansion and Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall under its belt, has announced its latest endeavor: Majesty. The company is calling the strategy game a "kingdom simulator."
As to what exactly that means (beyond the game's medieval setting), Cyberlore has this to say: "You, as sovereign, dictate the layout of your kingdom, managing how and where you erect special structures. From these structures you recruit adventurers who have their own unique AI and personalities. They are, at no time, under your direct control, but they are under your influence. As your treasury grows, you will be able to place reward flags for heroes. These flags are bounties that you offer to complete a given task. There are a wide variety of possible tasks, including protecting a trade caravan, eliminating a monster, or even finding a lost relic."
The game will include a multiplayer component and is expected to ship in the first quarter of 1999.
