As you know, Killer Loop for the PlayStation and Magforce Racing for the Dreamcast were developed by a German company named VCC and published by Crave. Recently, GameSpot spoke with Dierk Ohlerich, programmer at VCC, to see what the team is currently involved with.
The crew is currently working on two projects, both of which will be released by a publisher other than Crave and only in Europe. One of the games is based on a TV series named Cobra 11. It's an action series that follows the exploits of a specialized police squad who focuses on everything that happens on highways. It's a mission-based racing game that, according to Dierk Ohlerich, "doesn't have to hide from similar games in its genre. For example, you can have wonderful crashes, plus cars roll over and explode." The second game the company is working on is a ski-jumping game, which will most likely only be released in the German-speaking areas of Europe.
However, the team is already looking ahead. "After those two projects, which we are currently finishing, we plan to do something big again for next-generation consoles and PCs," said Ohlerich. When asked about whether they were happy with the sales of Killer Loop and Magforce Racing, Ohlerich said, "We're all driving Ferraris now. No, not really. The development time of the games was far too long. Since then we have become significantly better and faster, as you can see with our new games."
GameSpot will bring you more information on VCC's new next-gen console games as it becomes available.
