Logitech to Support Consoles
Logitech to Support Consoles-October 2024
Oct 27, 2024 2:21 AM

Logitech announced today that it has assigned industry veteran Ted M. Hoff to lead its interactive gaming peripheral business and its WingMan product division. GameSpot has learned that in addition to this executive appointment Logitech will be extending its product line to other gaming environments, particularly consoles and set-top boxes. In speaking with GameSpot Hoff assured us that Logitech "will be actively identifying new markets and as the gaming environment expands and matures it will look to introduce its products to those markets."

At this point the company has no specific consoles in mind for the development of its accessories and software products because it plans to evaluate the success and sales of all upcoming consoles and set-top boxes to determine its support strategy. However, Hoff did state that consumers could expect to see Logitech products for the console market - going beyond the PC environment - by sometime next year.

Ted Hoff is an industry veteran who served as the president of Atari North America and was the founder of Atari Interactive. He was also the executive vice president of Sega of America and senior vice president and general manager of Fox Interactive. He assumes the position of vice president and general manager of interactive gaming at Logitech.

Under its WingMan brand Logitech currently develops the WingMan GamePad Extreme, WingMan Mouse, and the WingMan Extreme Digital 3D Joystick for the PC platform. GameSpot will bring you information on specific console accessories and related products from Logitech as they are introduced.
