Disney Investors Day has continued on at breakneck speed with a tidal wave of Lucasfilm announcements--but not all of them are set within the Star Wars universe. Peppered in with the news of upcoming TV shows for a galaxy far, far away was an announcement for a different franchise: Indiana Jones will be making a comeback to "conclude the iconic character's journey" according to Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy.
The new Indy film will be helmed by director James Mangold (Logan, Ford vs. Ferrari) and feature the man himself, Harrison Ford, reprising the role.
Details about the film are not yet available, but Kennedy has confirmed it will begin shooting in Spring of 2021 for a release in July of 2022.
The Disney Twitter account confirmed.
