Lies of P – How to Beat Fallen Archibishop Andreus
Lies of P – How to Beat Fallen Archibishop Andreus-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 4:19 AM

In true soulslike fashion, Lies of P features a lot of powerful enemies that will make your time in the city of Krat a nightmare. Good knowledge of the game's mechanics and good reflexes are usually enough to help you deal with most enemies in the game, but there will be times when you will find a boss who will truly put your skills to the test.

One of the first bosses that does so is Fallen Archibishop Andreus. Here are a few tips to make this fight slightly less frustrating.

How to Beat Fallen Archibishop Andreus in Lies of P

To have an easier time fighting the Fallen Bishop Andreus in Lies of P, it is a very good idea to prepare for the battle by equipping certain items and a specific Fallen Arm. As the boss is weak to Fire damage, you will want to equip the Flamberge Fallen Arm and the Thermite throwable item, which can be used to deal decent fire damage from a distance. You will also want to to equip Attribute Purification Ampoules, as one of the bosses attacks can deal Decay, which saps both your health and your weapon's durability. If you have a weapon capable of dealing Fire damage, equip it as well.

The battle against the Fallen Bishop Andreus boss is divided into two different phases. In the first one, the boss will use his gigantic mutated body to attack you. His techniques have great reach and fast recovery, so the window of opportunity to attack back is extremely short. As such, it is better to learn the boss' attack patterns to Perfect Guard each technique and leave him open to staggering and Fatal Attacks rather than risking getting your attacks interrupted and receiving massive damage. Setting the Fallen Bishop on fire using a Fire-elemental weapon or the Flamberge Fallen Arm is a great way to deal plenty of damage over time, leaving you free to worry only about defense. Don't try attacking him from the back, as the boss has a thick shell that protects him from all attacks.

Depleting the Fallen Archibishop Andreus' lifebar once won't be enough to defeat him, and you will have to take him down again in his new form. In the second phase of the fight, the shell on the boss' back will open to reveal a monstrous human-like figure armed with a staff that has great reach and power. As this figure is usually up in the air, the best way to approach this second part of the fight is to rush towards the boss as soon as it begins and try to get to its back. By doing this, the boss will turn towards P, allowing you to fight a slightly enhanced version of the first phase form instead. Do note, however, that all of his previous techniques go off a few frames later, so you will have to time your Perfect Guards differently than you did in the first phase. If you have summoned a Specter before the battle, and it is still alive, this will go much easier, as you can let the Specter attract the boss' attention, allowing you to use fully charged heavy attacks or Fable Arts.
