Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean sets sail in 2011
Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean sets sail in 2011-January 2024
Jan 4, 2025 3:23 AM

Gamers hoping for a new Pirates of the Caribbean title had their hopes dashed when Disney capsized Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned. However, the franchise isn't sinking just yet.

Lego-minded developer TT Games has already spun blocky interactive interpretations of popular franchises like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Batman, Rock Band, and most recently Harry Potter. Now, the developer has its sights set on Jack Sparrow and the high seas.

Disney Interactive and TT Games today sent word that Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game will set sail for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PSP, and PC during May 2011. The game will be released simultaneously with the new Pirates film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Jack Sparrow gets brick-ified next May.

As for the game, Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean will feature narrative elements, characters, and locations from the first three films (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End), as well as the upcoming Stranger Tides.

The game will let players control 70 characters through 20 levels, and it will also sport a cooperative mode, where two players can plunder and loot together. Additionally, the title includes a Freeplay mode, where players can return to previously beaten levels to collect items.
