The realm of Pokemon licensed merchandise will soon include PokeROMs, courtesy of Learning Company. These mini card-shaped CD-ROMs contain educational games featuring Pokemon characters such as Mewtwo, Pikachu, Psyduck, Bulbasar, and Squirtle. Geared toward a younger audience, PokeROMs contain multi-player quiz games, math puzzles, and a 200 question-plus database on math, science, reading, and social studies. Five skill levels are offered, ranging from grades one through five. Additionally, the quiz database grows with each additional PokeROM and links to upcoming Pokemon educational software.
The first series of 10 PokeROMS, for Windows 98/99 and Mac, will be released on June 10. PokeROMs will retail for US$7.99.
