Grand Theft Auto 6 is looking to be considerably more advanced than its predecessor, judging from some information that was discovered thanks to the build that leaked last year.
Reddit user Tobbelobben discovered an AI DEBUG menu while studying the leaked build, which includes tons of testing options that reveal new information on some of the game's mechanics and features. Alongside a ProceduralMotion system, which suggests the game will feature dynamic animations that will react to in-game conditions, the user discovered EmotionalLocoRequests, Expressions, and Gesture entries, which suggest how NPC will be able to display emotions through their locomotion system, enhanced facial expressions, and more.
The Grand Theft Auto 6 leaked build AI Debug menu also revealed some additional information regarding advanced AI for NPCs. Animals, for example, will likely be more intelligent than ever, judging from the AnimalIntelligence function in the menu, and interactions with wildlife will be deeper. Human NPCs AI, on the other hand, looks to be extremely advanced, thanks to an AIMemory system which suggests that non-playable characters will remember the player's actions and decisions, influencing their interactions. One of the functions in the menu also suggests that NPCs will be able to smell the player or other NPCs, which would be something unusual but nonetheless interesting.
The Grand Theft Auto 6 leaked build AI Debug menu also reveals a factions system, which may be the improved version of what was featured in San Andreas, and dynamic environments that could change over time due to player action or story progression, among other things.
