Many of us have spent the last week or so plowing through Sucker Punch's recently-released samurai game Ghost of Tsushima. However, in the six-year period between the release of the studio's previous game Infamous: Second Son and Tsushima, it appears that Sucker Punch was working on another project titled Prophecy, and it looks a lot like a steampunk Assassin's Creed.
As leaked footage reveals, Prophecy would have featured a mix of stealth and combat, as well as a number of alchemy-based weapons to confuse and defeat foes. Some of the swordplay in the demo resembles what would become that katana combat in Ghost of Tsushima, albeit with more of a focus on ambushes from the shadows. There are also some renders of assets and characters from the game in a Resetera thread.

Now Playing: Ghost Of Tsushima Review
Prophecy isn't the only cancelled project to leak recently. Footage of a cancelled Prince of Persia sequel emerged back in May after lurking on YouTube for more than eight years.
If you're still making your way through Ghost of Tsushima, check out our guide for unlocking the game's Sly Cooper armor, or finding its toughest Haiku. If you're trying to 100% the game, check out our piece on why you don't need to do that if you don't want to. In GameSpot's Ghost of Tsushima review, our critic Edmond Tran said that the game wasn't quite a Criterion classic, but it definitely looks like one.
"Beyond being a game centred around flashy sword fights and the journey of Jin Sakai to becoming a proto-ninja, Ghost of Tsushima invites you to lose yourself deeply in its grasslands, forests, and mountains," he wrote. "And though the tasks you're given often aren't as brilliant as the colour of the leaves, there's certainly something wonderfully humbling about just riding your horse through this beautiful environment and taking it all in."
