Play as the Law or the Breakers, later this month. Boss Key Games announced today that their intense online shooter, LawBreakers, will be heading into Closed Beta on March 16th.

　　Cliffy B and Rohan Rivas from Boss Key Games explain to us in this Studio Update video everything that's been going on at Boss Key since the end of the Alpha. They also hint at new playable character that may be making an appearance at Pax East this weekend.

　　The LawBreakers beta is running on Steam from March 16th to March 19th. You can sign up for the beta right here. LawBreakers will have a booth at PAX East along with hosting their own panel 'Action After Alpha: LawBreakers' Road to Beta' March 10 at 9PM in the Bumblee Theatre in the Boston Convention Center.

　　Players should prepare to deliver death from every angle as they compete in unprecedented gravity-defying combat in a nearly unrecognizable futuristic world. FPS fans will choose their play-style from a cast of unique “verti-killers”, each equipped with distinct movement skills, battle abilities and weapons combos, to join the fight in dynamic gravity-ravaged arenas that offer players a breathtaking vertical team-based battle royal.

　　We had a hands-on with a Lawbreakers last summer that left us fairly impressed with the chaotic shooter:

　　CliffyB and the team at Boss Key have set up the framework for a decent competitive shooter that feels like a slower Unreal Tournament matched with the diverse character classes of Blizzard’s recently released Overwatch. Though the speed could most certainly use a tweak, some of the newer conventions can help give new life to the arena shooter genre if Boss Key can fully realize their potential.
