Director Ridley Scott has been promising for some time that the upcoming Alien: Covenant will feature all incarnations of the title creature from the long-running sci-fi series. A new video has been tweeted by the franchise's official account, revealing some behind-the-scenes work on a scary-looking appendage. Check it out below:

Alien: Covenant is currently shooting in Australia. This is the latest in a series of images that have been released. In May, we had a first look at star Katherine Waterston, while Scott and co-star Michael Fassbender were pictured on set last month. The first official image was the insignia for the spaceship of the title.
In addition, a striking shot of what looks like the aftermath of an alien massacre was revealed by the Daily Mail in May, while video footage of a spectacular controlled explosion appeared a month earlier.
Alien: Covenant was originally announced as a direct sequel to 2012's Prometheus, but has subsequently gone through a couple of name changes to align it closer to the Alien series. Although it was initially thought that Fassbender was the only actor returning from Prometheus, it was recently reported that Noomi Rapace will also appear.
The cast also includes Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, and Demian Bichir. The film hits cinemas on August 4, 2017.
