Lara Croft Go Release Date Announced
Lara Croft Go Release Date Announced-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 1:45 AM

As part of Gamescom today, Square Enix announced that its upcoming mobile puzzle game Lara Croft Go--modeled after the excellent Hitman Go--will launch on August 27. That's just a couple weeks away.

The game, in development at Square Enix Montreal, was announced at E3. We saw it last month at the show, and enjoyed what we got to play.

"While Lara's puzzle journey borrows key elements from Agent 47's, the experience is vastly different thanks to new obstacles, tools, and enemies," editor Alexa Ray Corriea wrote in her preview.

Square Enix has also announced a special art contest in partnership with the Child's Play charity. Now through August 21, you can submit your own Lara Croft Go-themed artwork for a chance to win prizes and have your creation put on display at the game's launch event this month in Seattle at PAX Prime. Not only that, but the top designs will then be auctioned off, with proceeds going to Child's Play.

More details about the contest are available here.

The next Tomb Raider game for consoles, meanwhile, is this November's Xbox timed-exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider. The game will be released for PC and PlayStation 4 in 2016. And looking beyond that, Square Enix has already started to tease a follow-up to Rise of the Tomb Raider.

We learned and saw a lot more of Rise of the Tomb Raider this week at Gamescom. Check out some of the top stories and previews below.
