On Wednesday, Konami announced that it will acquire a 37.24 percent stake in Japanese software developer Genki for 315 million yen ($2.36 million). The company stated that the acquisition will help strengthen its software lineup. The deal should be completed by March 31. Genki has developed racing titles such as Wangun Midnight and Tokyo Xtreme Racing for the Sony PlayStation 2, and it also aided in the ports of Virtua Fighter 3 and Daytona USA for the Dreamcast.
