Konami is offering Japanese BeatMania fans the chance to live forever--in a game. The developer of the rhythm franchise has announced it is gathering player score data from BeatMania IIDX 13: DistorteD arcade machines all around Japan. Konami will then insert the data--players' DJ names, song scores, locations, and rankings--into BeatMania IIDX 12: Happy Sky on the Sony PlayStation 2. To make their data available for inclusion, players must register on the Konami Net DX Web site and then play DistorteD in the arcades. Only songs that are currently in DistorteD and are set to be included in Happy Sky are eligible for inclusion. BeatMania players must sign up for the promotion by its end date, August 31.
