Konami has gone on record regarding its continued support of the Sony PlayStation 2. Kazumi Kitaue, executive director for Konami, told the Reuters news service that although Konami plans to support all platforms, its primary efforts in next-generation development will be aimed at the PS2. Kitaue further stated that he expects Sony to accelerate advertising support for the PS2 and that the company may also have a price reduction planned in the near future.
"The PlayStation 2 platform will be at the top of our list, since sales are likely to grow rapidly,'' Kitaue said. "We plan to spend about 70 percent of our development resources on games for PlayStation consoles next year."
Konami will also release games for the Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo GameCube. It has already announced Metal Gear Solid X and Silent Hill X for the Xbox.
