Bloomberg Japan reported that Konami would establish a new subsidiary called KonamiStyle.com, which will focus primarily on the operation of the online shopping site by the same name. Although Konami will invest in Sony's Japanese online shopping site PlayStation.com, the company believes that it will need its own site to expand sales of its software for other gaming consoles, including Nintendo and Microsoft.
Konami also has plans for online gaming beginning this year with the giant Japanese telecommunication company NTT DoCoMo, including cellular-phone service i-Mode and Nintendo's next-gen handheld system Game Boy Advance. In 2001, Konami plans online network gaming for Sony's PlayStation2 and Microsoft's X-Box. One of the future possible titles mentioned is an online version of the love-simulation game Tokimeki Memorial.
