TOKYO - Konami will bring its popular arcade game Dance Dance Revolution to the PlayStation. In the arcades, two players step on a floor that has square panels, and they step on them in accordance to the onscreen directions and on the beat (imagine playing PaRappa using your feet).
The company hopes players will practice on the home version and perform on the arcade version in public. Dance Dance Revolution is planned for a spring release, retailing for 5,000-7,000 yen (about US$45-$63). A controller will be sold separately for about 3,000-4,000 yen (about $26-36).
Music in Dance Dance Revolution is a mix of power pop and techno tunes with difficulty ranging from easy to very, very hard (we're talkin' Saturday Night Fever). The arcade version of Dance Dance Revolution is currently on test in the US.
