Speaking candidly a few months ago, former Konami marketing manager Jon Sloan hinted that a PC port of Konami's extremely successful PlayStation hit, Metal Gear Solid, could be arriving in North American stores as early as Christmas 1999. Today, Konami signed an agreement with Microsoft that potentially paves the way for all of its PlayStation games to be available on the PC.

　　Under the terms of the agreements, Konami has the option to publish Microsoft PC games on a number of consoles, including the PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Dreamcast while giving Microsoft the PC publishing rights for their console games.

　　"Microsoft and Konami are both committed to producing the world's finest games,'' said Kazumi Kitaue, managing director of Konami's Consumer Software Division. "We are pleased to be entering into this strategic relationship, as it will allow us to leverage our position as one of the world's largest publishers of console titles and to watch Konami games flourish on the PC platform.'' Prior to this agreement, Konami's games have appeared solely on console and arcade platforms.
