TOKYO--Just days after GameSpot's report on SNK Playmore's trademark filing for the name King of Fighters XI, the company officially confirmed that the fighting game is in development for arcades. SNK Playmore has announced on its official Web site that beta testing for King of Fighters XI will be taking place this weekend in Japan. The background image on the announcement page features an illustration of the three main characters of the series, hinting that they will be returning in the new KOF. This is the second time that the King of Fighters series will be released on Sammy's Atomiswave arcade platform, the previous being last year's King of Fighters Neowave.
