SNK of Japan on Wednesday announced that it will be releasing the arcade-to-console port of The King of Fighters '99. Called The King of Fighters '99 Evolution, the Dreamcast version will sport a 3D CG background similar to the format used in The King of Fighters '99 Dream Match. The game features the Striker System, where you select four characters for your team then assign one of them as the striker. You can summon the striker during gameplay for support in battle. The Dreamcast version will feature original characters as strikers, not ones that were featured in the arcade version. Other features include the Internet mode, though no specifics have been revealed.
The King of Fighters '99 Evolution for the Sega Dreamcast is heading to Japanese store shelves this March 2000.
