Yesterday, Nintendo has confirmed that its next console, currently known as Nintendo NX, will not be released this year as several rumors previously claimed. Today, one of the biggest Japanese publishers has officially confirmed in its latest financial report that it will be supporting the Nintendo NX.
In its quarterly financial report, Koei Tecmo has officially confirmed its Nintendo NX support. The new Nintendo console will be supported with titles alongside hardware that's already on the market as well as the PlayStation VR headset. With the confirmed PSVR support for the already released Dead or Alie Xtreme 3, it's not surprising to learn that the Japanese publisher will continue to support the headset with more titles.
No title has actually been confirmed for the Nintendo NX, but it's likely that the first Koei Tecmo titles coming to Nintendo NX will be ports of already released games or titles launching before the end of the year. Given the success of Hyrule Warriors, developed by Koei Tecmo's Omega Force team, it wouldn't be surprising to see yet another version of the Dynasty Warriors spin-off get released on the new console.
As already mentioned, Nintendo has confirmed yesterday that the NX will be launched in March 2017 globally. Additionally, the Japanese company has revealed that the highly anticipated new Zelda title will also be released on NX, but the Wii U version, which was planned to release before the end of the year, will also be delayed to 2017. The company's E3 plans have also been revealed and the new Zelda game will be the only playable title that Nintendo will show during the event.
The Nintendo NX console has yet to be detailed in full, and will release sometime during March 2017. We will keep you updated on Nintendo's upcoming new console as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
