Knights of the Old Republic delayed
Knights of the Old Republic delayed-October 2024
Oct 20, 2024 1:44 AM

In a post to the game's official forum, the LucasArts producer for Knights of the Old Republic has revealed that the game's development is taking longer than expected. As a result, the Xbox version, which was previously scheduled for release at the end of this year, won't ship until next spring. The PC version has also been delayed, moving from a spring 2003 schedule to a release date sometime next summer.

"Now that we are entrenched in the production phase of the project and many of the unknowns have been eliminated, we are able to plan the remaining work with much greater accuracy," said Casey Hudson, project director at BioWare. "The current release dates will also give us enough time to give Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic the richness and quality we all want it to have."

In Knights of the Old Republic, players will follow a single-player adventure through the Star Wars galaxy as it existed some 4,000 years before the events of the movies. During the time of the Old Republic, the Jedi were strong, but the Sith ran rampant as well.
