Last week, Kingdom Hearts III director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the game's original 2018 release wouldn't have been good timing for a variety of reasons. In a fresh interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, he further elaborated on the matter.
According to Nomura, as translated by Mystic, the Kingdom Hearts III delay to January 2019 will allow the game to have a simultaneous worldwide release, a statement which is in line with the previous one mentioning suggestings from hardware manufacturers, marketing teams and more.
Nomura:
-KH3 delayed to ensure all regions get the game at nearly the same time
-All worlds will have a minigame of sorts. Remi is part of a minigame in Twilight Town. You can collect ingredients by scouring different worlds for them.
-Tangled world has a rhythm game minigame.

In the same interview, Tetsuya Nomura also revealed some other new details on Kingdom Hearts III. The game is going to feature a secret movie like previous entries in the series, but it hasn't been completed yet. He also revealed that there are no plans to make a public demo available based on the Premiere Demo, but he would still like to find a way to let the public experience the game at the Tokyo Game Show.

Tetsuya Nomura also spoke about a possible Final Mix release. Unlike previous entries, any additional content will likely be added through updates and DLC.
-Nomura states that there are no considerations for a Final Mix at this moment, though there are times where the amount of content would be insufficient. If there is one at all, it will most likely be instated through updates and the planned DLC for KH3.
