King Kong cast bananas for game-November 2024
Nov 2, 2024 12:31 PM

One of the season's most highly anticipated films is also being worked into one of the season's most anticipated games. Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie is rumbling into stores November 22, and it's bringing some of the film's Oscar-winning talent with it.

Ubisoft today announced that the movie's three leads, Jack Black, Naomi Watts, and Adrien Brody, will be providing some of their acting skills in the game. Black (Tenacious D, High Fidelity) and Watts (The Ring, Mulholland Drive) will lend both their likeness and voices to the game, and Brody (The Pianist) will voice act.

"We want the movie and the videogame to be a shared experience, so having the voices and likenesses of the actors is very important," said director Peter Jackson. "Another great aspect of the collaboration is the absolute enthusiasm that the cast has shown for the game. Jack Black loves seeing himself running around the jungles of Skull Island and it's fun watching him actually play the game."

Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie is rated T for Teen and will be released on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, and the PC on November 22. For more information, check out GameSpot's recent hands-on with the game.
