The Xbox One has been recognized by Popular Science as a winner in their annual "Best of What's New" awards specifically for the console's new Kinect motion-sensing camera.
Editors at the monthly magazine praised the Kinect's ability to track body movements in all lighting conditions, as well as its ability to interpret and map skeletal and muscular movement.
Other gaming-focused winners in Popular Science's "Best of What's New" Entertainment category include the virtual reality headset Oculus Rift and the Nvidia Shield portable gaming device.
This is not the first magazine award the Xbox One has received. Popular Mechanics named the Xbox One a top "breakthrough" product for 2013, calling it one of the "most innovative and transformative" products of the year.
The Xbox One launches in 13 territories on Friday, November 22 for $500. For more on the next-generation console, check out GameSpot's review roundup.
GameSpot's video coverage of the Xbox One continues tomorrow, November 19, at 9 p.m. PDT with a video demonstration of the hardware and user interface.
