Killer Instinct launched alongside the Xbox One two years ago, and those who bought a Day One 12-Month Xbox Live Membership received Shadow Jago, a re-skin of Jago that only differed in appearance to the warrior monk. Now players will finally be able to play a unique version of Shadow Jago this December.
The unique Shadow Jago will utilize his Season 1 boss moveset, which was a version of the character you could fight in Arcade Mode. He will be balanced for competitive multiplayer before he's released. The character's exact release date has not been set at this point, but it was confirmed in a recent blog post by Killer Instinct community manager Rukari Austin that the character would be released in December.
Austin also mentioned that there's a Shadow Jago livestream and a "fun video" in the works, but didn't commit to any times or dates.
Back in April, developer Iron Galaxy Studios released classic character Cinder and said they'd be donating 100 percent of all digital sales up to $100,000 to be used in Killer Instinct tournament prizes. Iron Galaxy raised the $100,000, and to celebrate the successful community fund, it was announced shortly after on the Microsoft Studios Blog that two things would be released for the Xbox One fighting game: A Community Bundle that contains the Shadow Jago re-skin and the unique Shadow Jago character.
Killer Instinct Season 3 is set to start in March 2016 and will feature classic Killer Instinct 2 characters Kim Wu, Tusk, and Gargos. It was announced at Gamescom that Battletoad Rash would be joining the fight as well.
