During The Gray Man's press tour, Ryan Gosling responded to rumors that he was approached to play the MCU's Nova were false--though revealed he would want to play Ghost Rider. To which, out at Comic-Con, Marvel boss Kevin Feige said he'd "love to find a place" for Gosling in the MCU.
"Ryan's amazing," Feige told MTV News when he learned about Gosling's Marvel pitch. "Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider… I'd love to find a place for him in the MCU."
Notably, a Nova movie was not on the slate for Marvel's Phase 5 and 6--nor is a Ghost Rider movie. But, Feige added that in coming phases the MCU will be opening up to conceivably include the role. "You talk about Ghost Rider," said Feige. "We've got Blade, we've got Doctor Strange, we've got the supernatural angles."
In a separate interview with MTV News, Gosling was asked how many comic book hero roles he's turned down. "It doesn't matter," said Gosling. "I wasn't right for it. But I would love to do it."
More information is still coming out on Phase 5 and Phase 6. At Comic-Con, we learned that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will end Phase 4. Phase 6 will kick off with the Fantastic 4 movie on November 8, 2024, and two new Avengers movies will also be coming in Phase 6 by the end of 2025. According to what Marvel has announced so far, Phase 6 will last about a year, which is short for the MCU.
