KeSPA partners with Azubu.TV
KeSPA partners with Azubu.TV-October 2024
Oct 17, 2024 10:29 PM

This article was originally published on GameSpot's sister site onGamers.com, which was dedicated to esports coverage.

After the deal in 2012, giving rights to MLG to invite KeSPA players to American StarCraft 2 events, now Azubu has reached an agreement with the fabled organisation. In it, the main eSports regulator in Korea gives exclusive access to the company, allowing them to broadcast the games of the country's finest League of Legends players.

Players from 11 KeSPA teams - SK Telecom T1 K & S, CJ Entus Blaze, Incredible Miracle #1, Jin Air Stealths, Najin White Sword, Najin White Shield, Samsung Blue & White and KT Rolster Arrows & Bullets will have their full rosters streaming under Azubu, while CJ Entus Frost, Incredible Miracle #2 and Jin Air Falcons will include only parts of their line-up. Ian Sharpe, Jason Katz and Matthew Gunnin, the company CEO, COO and Director of Content respectively, have all released statements regarding the deal.

This partnership marks a tipping point in the history of eSports; never before have top Korean LoL pro gamers streamed to the public. For the first time, fans will be able to watch and interact with the world’s best while they stream on Azubu.tv.

  - Ian Sharpe, CEO Azubu.tv

We’re all humbled that these fourteen teams have shown so much confidence in Azubu by choosing us to be their first-ever streaming platform. eSports is uniquely global and it feels great to give so many Korean gaming superstars the opportunity to personally dialogue with their fans all over the world. We can’t wait!

  - Jason Katz, COO Azubu.tv

Bringing KeSPA on board to Azubu means exciting times for esports. These organizations have never streamed before and have chosen to work exclusively with Azubu to showcase their players and teams in the highest quality possible. We’re excited to make the experience one to remember.

  - Matthew Gunnin, Director of Content Azubu.tv

Azubu.tv has already set its foot in the Western scene with the sponsorship of Team Curse in North America and three-time European LCS Champions Fnatic in Europe. The website has already set up a KeSPA player hub where you can find detailed streaming schedules of the streaming Korean pro players.
