John Wick 4 is about a week away now, and according to Keanu Reeves himself, after that, the next time we'll see the hitman will be as a cameo in the spin-off film Ballerina.
Ana de Armas will play Rooney, a character previously played by Unity Phelan during a brief apperance in John Wick 3. John Wick 4 is on the way first, however, and it just had a surprise screening at SXSW, even getting a short standing ovation, as reported by Deadline. The screening also held a Q&A, allowing the audience to ask some questions about the film, and when asked by a fan if Reeves would be appearing in Ballerina, the actor confirmed that he does in fact have a cameo in the upcoming film.
He didn't specify to what extent he'll be appearing in Ballerina, like whether he'll appear for a brief hello or be present for at least a full scene. It was generally expected we was going to make an appearance in some shape or form, given it is a film set in the John Wick universe.
One fan also shouted from the audience, "Bring back Constantine!" to which Reeves responded with a simple "I'm trying," so potentially the tiniest of slivers of good news for those desperate for Reeves to return to the DC character.
Reviews are already out for John Wick 4, and they're very similar to the previous three films. John Wick 4 opens in theaters on March 24.
