The FIFA World Cup comes around only every four years, but it gives EA the ability to double its output of games based on one of the world's most popular sports. The first of those releases has already proven to be a success, with EA saying earlier this week that 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa's platinum-plus performance helped elevate its April-June financials.

　　Today, EA offered additional details about its second FIFA Soccer effort of the year. Namely, the publisher said that Real Madrid sensation Kaka (aka Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite) will front FIFA 11's global launch, as he appears on the cover in all regions alongside local sports figures.

　　Kaka has perfected the rare big bird bicycle kick. Now 28, Kaka began his career at the age of 15, playing for Sao Paulo FC. Before donning Real Madrid's jersey in 2009, he had played for A.C. Milan since 2003. Over the course of his career, the midfielder has scored 133 goals in 372 showings, and he also took home the 2002 FIFA World Cup as part of the Brazilian national team. During his first season for Real Madrid, Kaka put away eight goals in 22 appearances.

　　In development at EA Canada, FIFA 11 is set to arrive on September 28 in North America and on October 1 in Europe and Asia for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, DS, PC, and mobile platforms. A Wii edition is slated to follow in North America on October 4.
