The next movie from Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) will feature Keke Palmer in a lead role, according to a report from Deadline and others.
Additionally, sources told Deadline that Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya is in talks to work with Peele again and appear in this new movie alongside Palmer. He hasn't put pen to paper to sign a deal, however.
According to the report, Peele spent Fall 2020 meeting with candidates for roles in the new film. He already had a rapport with Palmer, as the two worked together on the sketch comedy show Key & Peele. Palmer also previously had roles in the movies Pimp and Hustlers.
Peele's new movie has no title and there are no plot details available, but we know that Peele will write and direct the movie. It comes with a lot of anticipation given the success of Get Out and Us. Peele won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for 2017's Get Out. The 2019 follow-up Us, which starred Lupita Nyong'o, was celebrated as well.
Peele's secret film will be released on July 22, 2022. Once again, he's working with Universal Pictures to produce the film after Get Out and Us grossed more than $500 million together.
Separately, Collider reported that Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons was in talks for a part in Peele's new movie, but a scheduling conflict means it won't happen.
