Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania introduces a new big bad to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the form of Kang the Conqueror, a major threat portrayed by Jonathan Majors. While the third Ant-Man movie will see the debut of Kang, he'll also return to menace Earth's mightiest mortals in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. And beyond that? Majors wants to share the screen with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man.

　　"I'm just such a huge fan of him as an actor. I think what he did with Iron Man was such a gift to the culture at large," Majors said to Lifehacker Australia. "I would love to be across from him on screen to see how our philosophies, acting-wise and character-wise, just personally, match up. You know, I find him to be such a fascinating artist, which is why Iron Man is so fascinating. His portrayal of Iron Man is so fascinating and he represents a very clear worldview and energy of the Avengers. And I think Kang represents a different era. It'd be really interesting to see those two kind of come together and have a bit of conversation."

　　Interestingly, Kang and Stark have a fascinating history in older Iron Man comics. The Crossing was a mid-'90s Iron Man storyline that involved Tony Stark betraying the Avengers after years of being manipulated by Kang, becoming a double agent for the villain.

　　The solution? The Avengers catching a ride back through time to recruit a younger version of Stark to stop his older self, an idea that eventually ended with adult Tony sacrificing himself to stop Kang's plot and pave the way for his younger self to take over in the ongoing Iron Man comic book series. Which lasted for several issues until the Onslaught event essentially pushed the reset key on that storyline.

　　It was a very weird and very '90s time in comic book history.Majors has a big year ahead of him in film, as this new Avengers-level threat will also be seen on the big screen in Creed III on March 3. The current schedule for Marvel's Phase 5 lineup of films includes Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 5 and The Marvels on July 28, while Disney+ subscribers can look forward to a second season of What If?, Secret Invasion, Loki season 2, and Ironheart throughout 2023.
