Star Wars legend John Williams will return to the Star Wars series to compose a theme for the upcoming TV show Obi-Wan Kenobi, which premieres later this year.

　　According to Variety, Williams recorded music with a Los Angeles-based orchestra last week "under tight security." Williams, who is 90, wrote the Obi-Wan Kenobi theme for the original Star Wars movie, but whether or not he replicated that same theme or wrote a new one for the Obi-Wan show is unknown.

　　Williams earned an Oscar for the music he wrote for 1977's original Star Wars, before returning for all the sequels--The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker. Outside of the main series, Williams did the music for Solo and Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland.

　　Disney's new Obi-Wan TV show premieres May 25 on Disney+. In addition to Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan, the show features Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie, along with Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader.

　　According to a synopsis in the release: The show's story "begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat--the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader."
