Hot off the wheels of Travis Knight's Bumblebee, John Cena (Ferdinand, Blockers) has lined up a few more films for the coming years. In addition to Stephen Gaghan's fantasy comedy The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, Scott Waugh's action-thriller Project X-Traction, and David DeCoteau's family comedy Playing With Fire, the former WWE Champion is set to star in an upcoming action comedy by Jason Bateman (Zootopia, Game Night).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the untitled film will release through Netflix and is reported to star both Cena and Bateman. In addition to Bateman appearing in and directing the film, Mark Perez, who wrote 2018's mystery comedy Game Night, will write the script for this new untitled Netflix film.

Now Playing: The 20 Biggest Movies To Watch In 2019
While there isn't much information on the film yet, The Hollywood Reporter states that it has "a Game Night vibe to the plot." It states, "The story centers on a family that gets stuck in an old abandoned movie studio. The sets come to life and the family members find themselves stuck in various films."
Because Bateman owns Aggregate Films--an LA-based production company that's released 2013's Identify Theft and Bad Words, 2016's The Family Fang, and 2018's Game Night--his partner Michael Costigan (Prometheus, Ghost in the Shell) will produce the film. Additionally, both Joe Roth (Maleficient, Alice Through the Looking Glass) and Jeff Kirschenbaum (Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Gundalian Invaders, XXX: Return of Xander Cage) will have production credits.
In our Bumblebee review, we called the film a "new bar for Transformers movies," saying it "hits a perfect tone with a great mix of action, humor, and heart."
