Bad Robot Games was founded in 2018, and it is partially funded by Tencent and Warner Bros. own internal game development arm, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. That company is reportedly up for sale, with companies like Microsoft, EA, Activision, and others said to be interested in a purchase.
There is no word yet on any specific future projects from Bad Robot Games, but president Dave Baronoff said in a statement that Sweet will help the company "lead us to incredible heights."
Bad Robot Games is working with Fortnite developer Epic Games on the mobile game Spyjinx.
"As video games become a primary way to explore and experience new worlds and stories, I believe Bad Robot Games is uniquely suited to build something truly special and I am incredibly excited to be a part of the team," Sweet said.
In September 2019, Bad Robot signed a $250 million deal with Warner Bros. to create all kinds of new content, including video games. As part of this announcement, Warner Bros. said Bad Robot Games will make "new large and indie consumer games for mobile, PC, and console."
