Veteran and esteemed actor Jeff Bridges has given an update on his health after he confirmed in 2020 that he has lymphoma, which is a type of cancer.

　　Posting on his website, Bridges said he went in for a CT scan on January 6 to determine if his new protocols had been successful in shrinking the tumor, and he received some good news.

　　"Turns out it's working beautifully. The thing has drastically shrunk," he wrote.

　　Bridges said he was elated to get the news, but immediately upon returning home on January 6, he saw the news about the US Capitol riots. "To see our country attacking itself broke my heart," he said. "A question rose in me--'What's an individual to do in a situation like this?'"

　　Bridges said he turned to the words of his mentor, the artist Rozzell Sykes, whose mantra is "be love."

　　Bridges is a veteran actor who has been in the business for decades and has earned seven Academy Award nominations in his career, winning a Best Actor award for Crazy Heart in 2010. His older brother, Beau Bridges, is also an actor and has appeared in numerous films and TV shows over the past half-century. His father, Lloyd Bridges, was a prolific actor as well.

　　Jeff Bridges is known for many more roles beyond The Big Lebowski, with some of his other popular films including titles like the Coen brothers 2010 remake of True Grit, as well as the first MCU movie Iron Man, and the animated film Surf's Up. His most recent major movie was Bad Times at the El Royale.
