Interplay Touts MDK2 DC
Interplay Touts MDK2 DC-October 2024
Oct 28, 2024 12:23 PM

The sequel to Shiny Entertainment's MDK will be appearing on Sega's Dreamcast in addition to PC courtesy of Interplay. The company announced Tuesday that it will show MDK2 for both platforms at this year's E3, May 13-15 1999 in Los Angeles. MDK2 is expected to release simultaneously with the launch of the system in the fall of 1999.

BioWare (whose previous credits include Baldur's Gate on the PC) is currently developing the game, which expands upon the first game. Players will be able to control not only Kurt (the first's lead), but also Max, and Dr. Hawkins, each with his own weapons/attacks. It will use the BioWare-developed Omen engine, optimized for both platforms to provide maximum quality.

"BioWare is aiming to create the ultimate single-player experience with MDK2," said Greg Zeschuk, President and Joint-CEO of Canadian developer BioWare. "We're carefully crafting a tight, but humorous, world inhabited by the most frightening and entertaining creatures yet seen in a 3D game. The solid technology and riveting story will keep players compelled to play out the game to its lengthy completion. MDK2 is the kind of game you won't want to put down!"
