Interplay's 14 Degrees East division in conjunction with Quicksilver announced a new real-time strategy game called Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus, which is expected to ship this winter.
Set in the era of Homer's Odyssey, gamers manage their armies' skills and how to diminish their weaknesses in order to ready them for battle against other gods' armies. All the while you'll be searching for the best heroes to help you gain an eternal seat on top of Olympus.
Players choose from 30 different units with their own unique abilities such as Gorgons (medusa) turning flesh to stone or having winged Harpies dig their poisonous claws into enemy warriors. As the game progresses, users gain new units from other they encounter on the way to victory. Only ten heroes like Hercules and Achilles are in the game and only four of heroes can be sent into battle at once.
In an interesting twist of gameplay, users will be able to train and perfect their online armies in single player mode and then use that army to combat others in multiplayer mode.
