French company Infogrames released financial figures for its 1997-98 fiscal year today; those figures show that the company posted revenues of US$271 million and net profits of $15.5 million for the year. That compares with $118 million in revenues and a net loss of $6 million in 1996-97. Infrogrames' 1997-98 results include revenue derived from the acquisition of Philips Media distribution units, which Infogrames acquired in July of 1997.
Bruno Bonnell, president and CEO of Infogrames, was obviously pleased with those figures. He also predicted a rosy fall for the company. "Our Mission Impossible title, released in July on the Nintendo 64, has already reached a million units sold and can be classified as an international success," Bonnell said. "For the holidays, we'll have Starshot for Nintendo 64, Total Air War for the PC, and our first Looney Tunes titles developed specially for Nintendo's new Color Game Boy."
