The ESA Foundation last night held its annual Nite to Unite for Kids fundraiser in San Francisco. A host of big names were in attendance, encouraged by nearly 200 items to bid on in both a silent auction that preceded dinner and a live auction held just after dinner. The 950 in attendance raised money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Web Wise Kids, Just Think Foundation, and the Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) project, among other organizations. As always, the event drew many of the game industry's top talent--with the power table of the night going to talent rep agency CAA. With its own Larry Shapiro and Seamus Blackley helming, the table included Will Wright, Chris Taylor, and Tim Schafer. In addition to design talent present, the usual A-list of deal makers roamed--Larry Probst, Robbie Bach, Jack Tretton, Reggie Fils-Aime, Brian Farrell, Bill Gardner, and dozens of other high-ranking and recognizable faces mingled. While the organization looks to raise in excess of $1 million for the designated charities, the official tally from last night's event will not be released for a few more days.
