Indiana reconsiders gaming bill
Indiana reconsiders gaming bill-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 4:21 AM

Indiana legislators are thinking twice today about a bill that would ban the sales of games rated M for Mature or AO for Adults Only to minors. Yesterday, the state's Senate amended the bill to instead establish a committee to study "issues relating to the availability for sale and rental to minors of adult rated video games" by the end of the year.

According to an Associated Press report, one of the bill's original authors hopes the committee comes back with a version of the bill capable of surviving a legal challenge on constitutional grounds. Earlier this week, the same bill was given the thumbs-up from the Senate Committee on Economic Development and Technology.
