The fourth annual Independent Games Festival (IGF) is scheduled to take place at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose in March, and the submission deadline for entries is drawing near. Independent game developers interested in submitting their games for consideration must do so by September 1, 2001. Entries must be created by independent developers that are unaffiliated with a commercial game publisher.
Ten finalists will be selected from the entries to demonstrate their games at the event, and awards will be given in four categories: technical excellence, innovation in visual arts, innovation in audio, and innovation in game design. The winners of the festival will be awarded more than $15,000 in cash prizes.
